Famous quotes containing the words world, junior and/or challenge:

    And, even yet, I dare not let it languish,
    Dare not indulge in memory’s rapturous pain;
    Once drinking deep of that divinest anguish,
    How could I seek the empty world again?
    Emily Brontë (1818–1848)

    The junior senator from Wisconsin, by his reckless charges, has so preyed upon the fears and hatreds and prejudices of the American people that he has started a prairie fire which neither he nor anyone else may be able to control.
    J. William Fulbright (b. 1905)

I do have a problem with the singular focus on this, as if that’s the only standard by which we ought to judge a president. What we learned in the last administration was how little having an encyclopedic grasp of all the facts has to do with governing.
    David R. Gergen (b. 1942)
