2008 Flathead Valley Avalanches
The Flathead Valley avalanches were two avalanches that buried 11 snowmobilers near the town of Fernie, British Columbia, Canada on December 28, 2008. The avalanches ultimately claimed the lives of 8 of the riders, and prompted the need for more awareness on avalanche safety.
