Famous quotes containing the words annual, keith and/or miller:
“I would not have every man nor every part of a man cultivated, any more than I would have every acre of earth cultivated: part will be tillage, but the greater part will be meadow and forest, not only serving an immediate use, but preparing a mould against a distant future, by the annual decay of the vegetation which it supports.”
—Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
“What affects men sharply about a foreign nation is not so much finding or not finding familiar things; it is rather not finding them in the familiar place.”
—Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874–1936)
“I have always looked upon decay as being just as wonderful and rich an expression of life as growth.”
—Henry Miller (1891–1980)
