Famous quotes containing the words football team, wake, forest, demon, football and/or team:

You can’t be a Real Country unless you have A BEER and an airline—it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a BEER.

To make it worth life’s while to wake and sport.

    The reason is:
    rats leave the sinking ship
    but we . . .
    we . . .
    didn’t leave,
    so the ship
    didn’t sink,
    and that’s madness,
    Lear’s song
    that’s Touchstone’s forest jest,
    that’s swan of Avon logic.
    Hilda Doolittle (1886–1961)

Man tells his aspiration in his God; but in his demon he shows his depth of experience; and casts light into the cavern through which he worked his cause up to the cheerful day.

Idon’t enjoy getting knocked about on a football field for other people’s amusement. I enjoy it if I’m being paid a lot for it.

Together they make a splendid team and business problems dissolve and the impossible is accomplished by their ministrations.... Imagination concerning the world’s wants and the individual’s needs should be the Alpha and Omega of self-education.
    Alice Foote MacDougall (1867–1945)
