2006 FIRA Women's European Nations Cup
With most of the senior nations preparing for the World Cup, FIRA organised a "Women ENC XV a side Tournament" for the six leading nations who were not in the Six Nations. While it does not appear to be part of the Women's European Championship sequence, it was very similar to the European Championship, especially the Pool B competitions.

Famous quotes containing the words women, european, nations and/or cup:
“Until the sky is the limit [for women], as it is for men, men as well as women will suffer, because all society is affected when half of it is denied equal opportunity for full development.”
—Mary Barnett Gilson (1877?)
“In verity ... we are the poor. This humanity we would claim for ourselves is the legacy, not only of the Enlightenment, but of the thousands and thousands of European peasants and poor townspeople who came here bringing their humanity and their sufferings with them. It is the absence of a stable upper class that is responsible for much of the vulgarity of the American scene. Should we blush before the visitor for this deficiency?”
—Mary McCarthy (19121989)
“The day of small nations has long passed away. The day of Empires has come.”
—Joseph Chamberlain (18361914)
“The cup of Morgan Fay is shattered.
Life is a bitter sage,
And we are weary infants
In a palsied age.”
—Allen Tate (18991979)
