The Tournament
The official host for the event is nearby Creighton University. Opening Ceremonies for "The Greatest Show on Dirt" began June 17 at Rosenblatt Stadium cumulating in an Olympic-style parade entrance by the participating schools and fireworks.
Starting June 18 the eight teams began play in two four-team brackets. In each bracket, the four teams played each other in a double elimination format to determine which team would play in the National Championship Series. The winners of the two brackets (Texas and Cal State Fullerton) faced each other in a best-of-three series to determine the National Champion.
