The 2002 Australian Nations Cup Championship was open to drivers of GT type cars complying with both Group 3E Series Production Cars regulations as published by CAMS and Nations Cup regulations as published by PROCAR. The title was contested over an eight round series with three races per round, excepting Round 2 which featured only two races.
