1994 London Israeli Embassy Attack - The Attack

The Attack

A car packed with 20 to 30 pounds of explosives parked in front of the embassy blew up minutes after the driver left it. The blast, which caused widespread damage, was heard over a mile away. Apart from damage to the embassy building, shop windows were blown out. The attack took place one day after King Hussein of Jordan and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin met in Washington to discuss a Jordan-Israel peace treaty.

Famous quotes containing the word attack:

It is well worth the efforts of a lifetime to have attained knowledge which justifies an attack on the root of all evil—viz. the deadly atheism which asserts that because forms of evil have always existed in society, therefore they must always exist; and that the attainment of a high ideal is a hopeless chimera.
    Elizabeth Blackwell (1821–1910)

We attack not only to hurt someone, to defeat him, but perhaps also simply to become conscious of our own strength.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)
