- 28 January - The 1974 Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Agreement signed at Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur between Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah with Sultan Salahuddin of Selangor.
