10th Malay Regiment

The 10th Malay Regiment, established 21 May 1949, was the only predominantly Malay regiment of the Malayan National Liberation Army (MNLA). Other regiments of this armed wing of the Malayan Communist Party were predominantly Chinese. The regiment fought against the British occupation of Malaysia after World War II.

Famous quotes containing the word regiment:

What makes a regiment of soldiers a more noble object of view than the same mass of mob? Their arms, their dresses, their banners, and the art and artificial symmetry of their position and movements.
    George Gordon Noel Byron (1788–1824)
