Famous quotes containing the words western and/or open:

“An accent mark, perhaps, instead of a whole western accent—a point of punctuation rather than a uniform twang. That is how it should be worn: as a quiet point of character reference, an apt phrase of sartorial allusion—macho, sotto voce.”
    —Phil Patton (b. 1953)

“But let me open up my heart to you completely, my friends: if there were gods, how could I bear not being a god! Hence, there are no gods. I drew this conclusion, to be sure—but now it draws me.”
    —Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)
