School Day
The school day consists of 7 periods ranging from 51 to 52 minutes with 3 to 5 minutes passing time allowed. Junior high students have a closed lunch period between 3rd and 4th hours while grades 9-12 enjoy an open lunch after 4th hour. The enrollment has been at a slow decline for the last few decades as the city of Virginia does the same, though recent reports from the district show that a few new teachers have been employed in the elementary, and that those grades have seen an increase in students in the last few years.

Famous quotes containing the words school day, school and/or day:
“School days, school days; dear old golden rule days.
Readin and ritin and rithmetic; taught to the tune of a hickry stick.”
—Will D. Cobb (18761930)
“What a wise and good parent will desire for his own children a nation must desire for all children.”
—Consultative Committee On The Prima. Report of the Consultative Committee on the Primary School (HADOW)
“Had I been less resolved to work, I would perhaps had made an effort to begin immediately. But since my resolution was formal and before twenty four hours, in the empty slots of the next day where everything fit so nicely because I was not yet there, it was better not to choose a night at which I was not well-disposed for a debut to which the following days proved, alas, no more propitious.... Unfortunately, the following day was not the exterior and vast day which I had feverishly awaited.”
—Marcel Proust (18711922)
