The UCLA's men's volleyball team has won 19 NCAA titles and is coached by Al Scates, winningest volleyball coach in the history of the NCAA.

The women's team has made 12 NCAA Final Four appearances (1981, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 2006, 2011) and has won 4 NCAA titles. Most recently, the women's team defeated Illinois in four sets to claim the NCAA title for 2011, twenty years after their previous title run. Volleyball star Karch Kiraly (1983) has been named one of 2009’s inductees into the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA) Academic All-America Hall of Fame.
