Sale Sharks

Sale Sharks are an English professional rugby union club who play in the Aviva Premiership.

The club is an offshoot of amateur club Sale FC, still based at Heywood Road in Sale while the Sharks share the Salford City Stadium with Salford City Reds rugby league club.

Through their junior team the Jets, the club has developed players including Steve Hanley, Mark Cueto, Dean Schofield, Chris Jones, Andy Titterrell and Charlie Hodgson as well as Jason Robinson when he changed codes after leaving Wigan Rugby League Club.

Famous quotes containing the words sale and/or sharks:

I hate this shallow Americanism which hopes to get rich by credit, to get knowledge by raps on midnight tables, to learn the economy of the mind by phrenology, or skill without study, or mastery without apprenticeship, or the sale of goods through pretending that they sell, or power through making believe you are powerful, or through a packed jury or caucus, bribery and “repeating” votes, or wealth by fraud.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

They will tell you tough stories of sharks all over the Cape, which I do not presume to doubt utterly,—how they will sometimes upset a boat, or tear it in pieces, to get at the man in it. I can easily believe in the undertow, but I have no doubt that one shark in a dozen years is enough to keep up the reputation of a beach a hundred miles long.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
