In business, it is becoming common practice in large companies (50% of European and North American companies reported a "significant" or "strategic" commitment) to document roles on Process Models such as BPMN diagrams as Swim lanes. These help organisations undertaking change projects to formally define the current or envisioned (future) roles expected to be responsible for a business process.
