Ranong Province - History

History

The name Ranong is a Thai corruption of Rundung, (Jawi: روندوڠ), a sparsely populated Malay principality once under the Malay Sultanate of Kedah. Rundung gradually submitted after repeated Thai invasions centuries ago.
