Famous quotes containing the words position, political and/or parties:

When you give power to an executive you do not know who will be filling that position when the time of crisis comes.
    Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961)

Great minds hereafter are to be employed on other matters.... Government no longer has its ancient importance.... The people’s progress, progress of every sort, no longer depends on government. Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

    Remorse—is Memory—awake—
    Her Parties all astir—
    A Presence of Departed Acts—
    At window—and at Door—
    Emily Dickinson (1830–1886)
