Morecambe

Morecambe ( /ˈmɔrkəm/) is a town and civil parish within the administrative district of Lancaster in the county of Lancashire, England.

The town is situated on the coast of Morecambe Bay and largely grew in the late nineteenth and early part of the twentieth centuries as a popular seaside resort. The town of Morecambe incorporates the three distinct historic settlements of Poulton-le-Sands, Bare and Torrisholme.

As of the 2001 census it has a resident population of 38,917 .
