MokaFive was founded in 2005 by four Stanford computer scientists. Monica Lam had an office in the same hallway as VMware founder, Mendel Rosenblum. The technology underwent ten years of research and development at Stanford. Official rollout of the first MokaFive Suite was in April, 2008.

MokaFive was involved early on in the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) movement. MokaFive’s technology allows users to bring their own computers, laptops, tablets, or smartphones to the workplace and download the company desktop.

In 2007, Khosla Ventures and Highland Capital Partners invested $15 million in MokaFive. NGEN Partners contributed to a $21 million funding push in 2010.

Dale L. Fuller is currently the director of MokaFive. He officially took on the role on March 8, 2012. Fuller had served on the board of directors since 2008.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

The history of medicine is the history of the unusual.
Robert M. Fresco, and Jack Arnold. Prof. Gerald Deemer (Leo G. Carroll)

History does nothing; it does not possess immense riches, it does not fight battles. It is men, real, living, who do all this.... It is not “history” which uses men as a means of achieving—as if it were an individual person—its own ends. History is nothing but the activity of men in pursuit of their ends.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)

Most events recorded in history are more remarkable than important, like eclipses of the sun and moon, by which all are attracted, but whose effects no one takes the trouble to calculate.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
