Mini MPV - Leisure Activity Vehicle

A leisure activity vehicle is a marketing definition of a small van sold as a MPV, generally related to a supermini or subcompact car, with two or three seat rows, and a large, tall car boot and tailgate. The Renault Kangoo is an example of a van-based MPV marketed as a LAV. They have become popular in Europe in the 1990s as a cheaper alternative to car-based MPVs. An early example of the category was the Matra Rancho introduced in 1977 based on a Simca pick-up.

Famous quotes containing the words leisure, activity and/or vehicle:

A healthy man, with steady employment, as wood-chopping at fifty cents a cord, and a camp in the woods, will not be a good subject for Christianity. The New Testament may be a choice book to him on some, but not on all or most of his days. He will rather go a-fishing in his leisure hours. The Apostles, though they were fishers too, were of the solemn race of sea-fishers, and never trolled for pickerel on inland streams.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Life is a series of diminishments. Each cessation of an activity either from choice or some other variety of infirmity is a death, a putting to final rest. Each loss, of friend or precious enemy, can be equated with the closing off of a room containing blocks of nerves ... and soon after the closing off the nerves atrophy and that part of oneself, in essence, drops away. The self is lightened, is held on earth by a gram less of mass and will.
    Coleman Dowell (1925–1985)

In all Works of This, and of the Dramatic Kind, STORY, or AMUSEMENT, should be considered as little more than the Vehicle to the more necessary INSTRUCTION.
    Samuel Richardson (1689–1761)
