Mill Creek High School - Newspaper

Newspaper

The Mill Creek High school newspaper has won many awards during its circulation. The newspaper's original name was "The Current." This was followed by the slogan, "The Current, where the news always flows." This title for the newspaper only lasted from the opening of Mill Creek (2004) until 2005. Mill Creek's mascot is the Hawk, so the paper was then titled "The Hawk Print." In the statewide Journalism Banquet of 2007 "The Hawk Print" came in first place in "Best Art or Illustration," "Best Photography," "Best News Section," and "Most Improved."

Famous quotes containing the word newspaper:

Look at the mother of Washington! She raised a boy that could not tell a lie—could not tell a lie! But he never had any chance. It might have been different if he had belonged to the Washington Newspaper Correspondents’ Club
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)

My note to you I certainly did not expect to see in print; yet I have not been much shocked by the newspaper comments upon it. Those comments constitute a fair specimen of what has occurred to me through life. I have endured a great deal of ridicule without much malice; and have received a great deal of kindness, not quite free from ridicule. I am used to it.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

The newspaper has debauched the American until he is a slavish, simpering, and angerless citizen; it has taught him to be a lump mass-man toward fraud, simony, murder, and lunacies more vile than those of Commodus or Caracalla.
    Edward Dahlberg (1900–1977)
