Famous quotes containing the words news and/or events:

Charles Foster Kane: Look, Mr. Carter. Here is a three-column headline in the Chronicle. Why hasn’t the Inquirer a three-column headline?

Charles Foster Kane: Mr. Carter, if the headline is big enough, it makes the news big enough.
    Orson Welles (1915–1985)

If I have renounced the search of truth, if I have come into the port of some pretending dogmatism, some new church, some Schelling or Cousin, I have died to all use of these new events that are born out of prolific time into multitude of life every hour. Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
