Keswick Christian School

Founded originally as Grace Livingston Hill Memorial School in 1953, Keswick Christian School is a private, Pre-K-12, Christian school with an interdenominational student body, mostly of Protestant background, and an enrollment around 650 students (2007). The campus spans 30 acres (120,000 m2), set among towering oak trees reminiscent of its once rural surroundings, and is located on the outlying area of St. Petersburg, Florida, only about half of a mile outside Seminole, Florida, whose city council annexed the school into its city limits in 2000. The school is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Famous quotes containing the words christian and/or school:

Surely the one thing needful for a Christian and an Englishman to study is Christian and moral and political philosophy, and then we should see our way a little more clearly without falling into Judaism, or Toryism, or Jacobinism, or any other ism whatever.
    Thomas Arnold (1795–1842)

The first rule of education for me was discipline. Discipline is the keynote to learning. Discipline has been the great factor in my life. I discipline myself to do everything—getting up in the morning, walking, dancing, exercise. If you won’t have discipline, you won’t have a nation. We can’t have permissiveness. When someone comes in and says, “Oh, your room is so quiet,” I know I’ve been successful.
Rose Hoffman, U.S. public school third-grade teacher. As quoted in Working, book 8, by Studs Terkel (1973)
