Parting Ways With Moody
In 1996, Moody Bible Institute decided that their future focus would be solely on higher education, so the college amicably parted ways with Keswick. Moody sold its conference center property, established in 1962 on Lake Kersey, including a 48-room lodge, a 550-seat chapel and three homes, to Keswick for $600,000. The radio station remained the property of Moody. A fundraising campaign ensued to fund the purchase; however, this was only the beginning of the school's endeavors to reach new goals through a capital campaign.

Famous quotes containing the words parting, ways and/or moody:
“I can hear, underground, that sucking and sobbing,
In my veins, in my bones I feel it,
The small waters seeping upward,
The tight grains parting at last.”

“The people of the United States have been fortunate in many things. One of the things in which we have been most fortunate has been that so far, due perhaps to certain basic virtues in our traditional ways of doing things, we have managed to keep the crisis of western civilization, which has devastated the rest of the world and in which we are as much involved as anybody, more or less at arms length.”
—John Dos Passos (18961970)
“The price on the wanted
poster was a-going down, outlaw alias copped my stance
and moody greenhorns were making me dance; while my mouths
shooting iron got its chambers jammed.”
—Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)
