Hassan spent several years living in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Hassan is knowledgeable about the Bundesliga and German culture as well as being fluent in German. Kenny is also known for making up his own names for certain players. For example, Hassan refers to Rangers defender Carlos Bocanegra as Carlos "Boca Juniors"; Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker as "Mertz-cracker"; FC Barcelona midfielder Sergi Busquets as "Biscuits"; either Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt or Manchester United's Ji-Sung Park as "Ji-Sung Kuyt"; and either Tottenham Hotspur's Aaron Lennon or Queens Park Rangers's Shaun Wright-Phillips as "Shaun Wright-Lennon." Kenny is also an avid golfer. Kenny is a self-styled tactical expert in football.
