K-202
K-202 was a 16-bit minicomputer, created by Polish scientist Jacek KarpiĆski between 1971-1973 in cooperation with British companies Data-Loop and M.B. Metals. Approximately 30 units were claimed to be produced. The later production was halted as it was not in line with the ES EVM (Unified System of Electronic Computers in the Soviet Union) causing the inventor to emigrate. The K-202 had two main rivals Data General SuperNOVA minicomputer (United States) and the CTL Modular One (United Kingdom), although no import or export of such technology was possible across the Iron Curtain. The communist block, however, were notorious for producing claims about computers that were never in reality available as the technology to produce them (silicon integrated circuits) were unavailable due to an embargo by the West.
