Juno Award For Vocal Jazz Album of The Year

The Juno Award for "Vocal Jazz Album of the Year" has been awarded since 1977, as recognition each year for the best vocal jazz album in Canada. It was previously known as other names including Best Jazz Album (1977–1993) and the award categories for Best Mainstream Jazz Album and Best Contemporary Jazz Album from 1994–1999.

Famous quotes containing the words award, vocal, jazz, album and/or year:

The award of a pure gold medal for poetry would flatter the recipient unduly: no poem ever attains such carat purity.
    Robert Graves (1895–1985)

The sound of tireless voices is the price we pay for the right to hear the music of our own opinions. But there is also, it seems to me, a moment at which democracy must prove its capacity to act. Every man has a right to be heard; but no man has the right to strangle democracy with a single set of vocal chords.
    Adlai Stevenson (1900–1965)

There’s more bad music in jazz than any other form. Maybe that’s because the audience doesn’t really know what’s happening.
    Pat Metheny (b. 1954)

What a long strange trip it’s been.
Robert Hunter, U.S. rock lyricist. “Truckin’,” on the Grateful Dead album American Beauty (1971)

    I have done it again.
    One year in every ten
    I manage it—
    Sylvia Plath (1932–1963)
