Famous quotes containing the words peace, keeping and/or missions:
“Away with us hes going,
The solemn-eyed:
Hell hear no more the lowing
Of the calves on the warm hillside
Or the kettle on the hob
Sing peace into his breast,”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
“He is keeping a candle burning in a shrine
where nobody comes,
there must be some mystery
in the air
about him.
I am almost afraid to think to myself,
why,
he is there.”
—Hilda Doolittle (18861961)
“There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for ones own safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind.... Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didnt, but if he was sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didnt have to; but if he didnt want to he was sane and had to.”
—Joseph Heller (b. 1923)
