Famous quotes containing the words house of, house, assembly, saint and/or vincent:

    “... It’s a day’s work
To empty one house of all household goods
And fill another with ‘em fifteen miles away,
Although you do no more than dump them down.”
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

Beauty is all very well at first sight; but who ever looks at it when it has been in the house three days?

Had every Athenian citizen been a Socrates, every Athenian assembly would still have been a mob.
    James Madison (1751–1836)

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition.
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

Pity me that the heart is slow to learn
What the swift mind beholds at every turn.
    —Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892–1950)
