Frank Hague - Death

Death

Hague died on New Year's Day in 1956 at his Park Avenue penthouse in New York. While hundreds gathered to see the casket depart the funeral home, only four men were seen to remove their hats for the passing of the coffin. One woman present held an American Flag and a sign that read, "God have mercy on his sinful, greedy soul."

Hague was interred in a large mausoleum at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.

Famous quotes containing the word death:

    And so, standing before the aforesaid officiator, the two swore that at every other time of their lives till death took them, they would assuredly believe, feel, and desire precisely as they had believed, felt, and desired during the few preceding weeks. What was as remarkable as the undertaking itself was the fact that nobody seemed at all surprised at what they swore.
    Thomas Hardy (1840–1928)

    For who shall defile the temples of the ancient gods, a cruel and violent death shall be his fate, and never shall his soul find rest unto eternity. Such is the curse of Amon-Ra, king of all the gods.
    Griffin Jay, Maxwell Shane (1905–1983)

    O mortal folk, you may behold and see
    How I lie here, sometime a mighty knight;
    The end of joy and all prosperity
    Is death at last, thorough his course and might;
    Stephen Hawes (1474–1528)
