Income Gains and Profits Which Are Not Taxed

The EU withholding tax is not levied on any other forms of income such as employment income, trading profits, commercial activities, royalties, annuities and similar income. Also, the EU withholding tax does not apply to dividends from shares, nor to capital gains and other profits realised on investments. All these types of income and profits are described as being "out of scope".

Famous quotes containing the words income, gains, profits and/or taxed:

Italy is such a delightful place to live in if you happen to be a man. There one may enjoy that exquisite luxury of Socialism—that true Socialism which is based not on equality of income or character, but on the equality of manners. In the democracy of the caffè or the street the great question of our life has been solved, and the brotherhood of man is a reality. But it is accomplished at the expense of the sisterhood of women.
    —E.M. (Edward Morgan)

It is not he who gains the exact point in dispute who scores most in controversy—but he who has shown the better temper.
    Samuel Butler (1835–1902)

The living language is like a cowpath: it is the creation of the cows themselves, who, having created it, follow it or depart from it according to their whims or their needs. From daily use, the path undergoes change. A cow is under no obligation to stay in the narrow path she helped make, following the contour of the land, but she often profits by staying with it and she would be handicapped if she didn’t know where it was or where it led to.
    —E.B. (Elwyn Brooks)

The extravagant expenditure of public money is an evil not to be measured by the value of that money to the people who are taxed for it.
    Chester A. Arthur (1829–1886)
