De Shalit High School

De Shalit High School is a high school and two sister junior high schools located in the city Rehovot, in Israel. It is named after the physicist Amos de-Shalit (1926–1969).

The school has around 2000 students. The pupils in the high school may choose two major subjects out of the following: chemistry, biology, physics, computer science, economics, psychology, geography, Bible, history, literature, music, drama, art, French, Arabic and Sport. Along with these subjects, all pupils have to learn mathematics, English and other core subjects. In addition to intaking and enrolling students from Rehovot, De Shalit High School also absorbs students from the nearby town of Kiryat Ekron.

Students must wear to school a blank shirt, with a color of their choice, with the school logo on it.

Famous quotes containing the words high and/or school:

If you’re anxious for to shine in the high esthetic line as a man
    of culture rare,
You must get up all the germs of the transcendental terms, and plant
    them everywhere.
You must lie upon the daisies and discourse in novel phrases of your
    complicated state of mind,
The meaning doesn’t matter if it’s only idle chatter of a
    transcendental kind.
    Sir William Schwenck Gilbert (1836–1911)

Although good early childhood programs can benefit all children, they are not a quick fix for all of society’s ills—from crime in the streets to adolescent pregnancy, from school failure to unemployment. We must emphasize that good quality early childhood programs can help change the social and educational outcomes for many children, but they are not a panacea; they cannot ameliorate the effects of all harmful social and psychological environments.
    Barbara Bowman (20th century)
