The Milgaard Case in Popular Culture
To date, the David Milgaard case has been the subject of three movies: the 1992 documentary "The David Milgaard Story", directed by Vic Sarin, the 1999 docudrama "Milgaard", directed by Stephen Williams and starring Ian Tracey and in an episode of the popular documentary series "Crime Stories", produced by Partners in Motion.
The song "Wheat Kings" by The Tragically Hip (from their 1992 album Fully Completely) contains references to the story of Milgaard.
Canadian artist David Collier described the Milgaard case in comics form in his 2000 book Surviving Saskatoon.

Famous quotes containing the words case, popular and/or culture:
“In case I conk out, this is provisionally what I have to do: I must clarify obscurities; I must make clearer definite ideas or dissociations. I must find a verbal formula to combat the rise of brutalitythe principle of order versus the split atom.”
—Ezra Pound (18851972)
“You seem to think that I am adapted to nothing but the sugar-plums of intellect and had better not try to digest anything stronger.... a writer of popular sketches in magazines; a lecturer before Lyceums and College societies; a dabbler in metaphysics, poetry, and art, than which I would rather die, for if it has come to that, alas! verily, as you say, mediocrity has fallen on the name of Adams.”
—Henry Brooks Adams (18381918)
“We belong to an age whose culture is in danger of perishing through the means to culture.”
—Friedrich Nietzsche (18441900)
