Communication Problems - Connections and Errors

Connections and Errors

  • This episode marks the first appearance of Terry the chef (played by Brian Hall); he is the only new regular character in the last series.
  • This episode's original audio LP release was under the title "Mrs. Richards". In later re-releases, it was changed back to "Communication Problems".
  • The following line was originally cut in rehearsal: Basil picks some morsel off the floor after Mrs. Richards hits her head in the office, and asks, "Is this a piece of your brain?" After seeing it had been cut, Andrew Sachs convinced John Cleese it was a funny moment and talked Cleese into putting it back in the script.
  • Joan Sanderson and John Cleese would later co-star again as a married, aristocratic couple in The Great Muppet Caper.
  • Joan Sanderson and Prunella Scales would later co-star as mother and daughter in in the radio then TV comedy series After Henry by Simon Brett.

Famous quotes containing the words connections and/or errors:

The quickness with which all the “stuff” from childhood can reduce adult siblings to kids again underscores the strong and complex connections between brothers and sisters.... It doesn’t seem to matter how much time has elapsed or how far we’ve traveled. Our brothers and sisters bring us face to face with our former selves and remind us how intricately bound up we are in each other’s lives.
    Jane Mersky Leder (20th century)

Their errors have been weighed and found to have been dust in the balance; if their sins were as scarlet, they are now white as snow: they have been washed in the blood of the mediator and the redeemer, Time.
    Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792–1822)
