Retirement
In November 2007, Vahaly announced his retirement from professional tennis on his website. He had three shoulder surgeries in the period between fall 2006 and 2007. He has since moved to Washington DC and now works for a private equity fund, McLean Capital -- and will begin serving a two year term on the USTA Board of Directors in 2013.
