Bangladesh National Football Team

The Bangladesh national football team (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় ফুটবল দল) is the national team of Bangladesh controlled by the Bangladesh Football Federation. It is a member of the Asian Football Confederation and has yet to qualify for the World Cup finals. They were dismissed in the first round of their only Asian Cup appearance to date in 1980, and have been South Asian champions once, defeating the Maldives in the final via penalties, as hosts in 2003. As is the case elsewhere on the subcontinent, top-level football in Bangladesh is played somewhere in the shadow of the country's test cricket team.

    Is my team ploughing,
That I was used to drive
    And hear the harness jingle
    When I was man alive?
