The Arafura Games was to be held 11–18 May 2013 but was cancelled by the newly elected CLP government on October 31 reportedly due to costs. Sports to be included will be announced in 2012. The sports played at the 2011 Arafura Games:

  • Athletics- including Paralympic And Olympic events
  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket - Twenty20 format
  • Football (soccer) - including Paralympic events
  • Golf
  • Hockey
  • International lifesaving
  • Muay Thai
  • Sepak Takraw
  • Shooting - Clay Target
  • Shooting - Pistol (IPSC)
  • Shooting- Pistol/Air Rifle (ISSF)
  • Squash
  • Swimming - including Paralympic events
  • Table tennis - including Paralympic events
  • Ten-pin bowling
  • Triathlon
  • Indoor volleyball
  • Weightlifting and IPC Powerlifting
