Aerojet Today
Aerojet is currently owned by GenCorp. GenCorp was until 1984 known as the General Tire & Rubber Company. GenCorp is headquartered in Rancho Cordova, California. In November 2010, Aerojet was selected by NASA for consideration for potential contract awards for heavy lift launch vehicle system concepts, and propulsion technologies.
In July 2012, Gencorp announced that it was buying Aerojet's former competitor, Rocketdyne.
