Famous quotes containing the word trusting:

That of all the several ways of beginning a book which are now in practice throughout the known world, I am confident my own way of doing it is the best—I’m sure it is the most religious—for I begin with writing the first sentence—and trusting to Almighty God for the second.
    Laurence Sterne (1713–1768)

I’m trusting in the Lord and a good lawyer.
    Oliver North (b. 1943)

The world, the wise world, that never is wrong itself, judges always by events. And if he should use me ill, then I shall be blamed for trusting him: if well, O then I did right, to be sure!—But how would my censurers act in my case, before the event justifies or condemns the action, is the question.
    Samuel Richardson (1689–1761)
