Distribution and Subspecies
This butterfly occurs in tropical eastern and southern Africa. Three subspecies are recognized:
- Zintha hintza hintza
- South Africa to Kenya, possibly Zaire
- Zintha hintza krooni
- Namibia and adjacent regions
- Zintha hintza resplendens
- Ethiopia and adjacent regions
