Zhixin High School

Zhixin High School (执信中学), located in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou (Canton), was founded in 1921 by Sun Yat-sen in memorial of his comrade, the democratic fighter Zhu Zhixin (朱执信), who was killed in action in a battle at Hu Men, Canton, at the age of 35. In the school campus, a symbolic tomb was built for Mr. Zhu. Since its birth, the school had been one of the most prestigious high schools in the country and had seen the graduation of many outstanding alumni over the years.

Famous quotes containing the words high school, high and/or school:

When I was in high school I thought a vocation was a particular calling. Here’s a voice: “Come, follow me.” My idea of a calling now is not: “Come.” It’s like what I’m doing right now, not what I’m going to be. Life is a calling.
    Rebecca Sweeney (b. 1938)

We do not prove the existence of the poem.
It is something seen and known in lesser poems.
It is the huge, high harmony that sounds
A little and a little, suddenly,
By means of a separate sense. It is and it
    Is not and, therefore, is.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

The child to be concerned about is the one who is actively unhappy, [in school].... In the long run, a child’s emotional development has a far greater impact on his life than his school performance or the curriculum’s richness, so it is wise to do everything possible to change a situation in which a child is suffering excessively.
    Dorothy H. Cohen (20th century)
