Zenas the Lawyer (Ancient Greek: Ζηνᾶς) was one of the Seventy Disciples which were spread out by Jesus of Nazareth to spread his message. He was follower and companion of the Apostle Paul and mentioned in the New Testament:
"Send forward Zenas the lawyer and Apollo, with care that nothing be wanting to them. And let our men also learn to excel in good works for necessary uses: that they be not unfruitful."
(Titus 3:13)
Zenas the Lawyer is venerated as a saint by Eastern Orthodox Church (September 27 (by Julian Calendar), January 4), Roman Catholic Church (April 14) and other Christian Churches.
Famous quotes containing the word lawyer:
“The mayor and Montaigne have always been two, with a very clear separation. For all of being a lawyer or a financier, we must not ignore the knavery there is in such callings. An honest man is not accountable for the vice or stupidity of his trade, and should not therefore refuse to practice it.”
—Michel de Montaigne (15331592)
