History of The Ideas

ZEGG as a project arose out of the ideas developed by Dieter Duhm and Sabine Lichtenfels. His book “Fear in Capitalism” had made Dieter Duhm one of the leading thinkers in the “1968” movement. During the 70s he gained inspiration from many projects, including the Aktionsanalytische Organisation (AAO) set up by the Viennese artist Otto Muehl. Dieter Duhm and Aike Blechschmidt jointly drew up the design for a “Center for Experimental Culture Design” (ZEGG). In 1978, Dieter Duhm founded the “Bauhütte” project in southern Germany. He himself stated that in the following year he distanced himself from the AAO because he rejected Otto Muehl’s authoritarian style of leadership. In 1991 the community moved to Belzig and founded ZEGG there. Dieter Duhm and Sabine Lichtenfels themselves never actually lived in ZEGG. They moved to Portugal and in 1995 set up their own project, called Tamera.

Famous quotes containing the words history of, history and/or ideas:

The history of reform is always identical; it is the comparison of the idea with the fact. Our modes of living are not agreeable to our imagination. We suspect they are unworthy. We arraign our daily employments.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

I assure you that in our next class we will concern ourselves solely with the history of Egypt, and not with the more lurid and non-curricular subject of living mummies.
Griffin Jay, and Reginald LeBorg. Prof. Norman (Frank Reicher)

What I call middle-class society is any society that becomes rigidified in predetermined forms, forbidding all evolution, all gains, all progress, all discovery. I call middle-class a closed society in which life has no taste, in which the air is tainted, in which ideas and men are corrupt. And I think that a man who takes a stand against this death is in a sense a revolutionary.
    Frantz Fanon (1925–1961)
