Yuliya Beygelzimer

Yuliya Beygelzimer (Ukrainian: Юлія Марківна Бейгельзимер, born October 20, 1983, in Donetsk, Ukraine) is a professional female tennis player from Ukraine.

Beygelzimer has competed for Ukraine both at the Olympics and the Fed Cup, finally reaching the Top 100, at number 83 in September 2006.

She is perhaps best known for almost beating Jennifer Capriati at the 2004 French Open, leading 3 games to 0 in the final set. Despite her well-played match against Capriati, Beygelzimer has never made a WTA singles semifinal at a tournament. She has, however, had WTA doubles success with Mervana Jugić-Salkić and Tatiana Poutchek, winning a title on one occasion with each.

On the ITF circuit, Beygelzimer is a winner of 11 singles titles and 28 doubles titles.

The biggest win of her career came at the 2012 Barcelona Ladies Open, beating World No. 24 Flavia Pennetta in the second round.
