Activity of YITP
YITP has been playing a major role in leading the research in theoretical physics and also providing research and collaborative facilities in Japan.
Every year, YITP host a number of workshops on various topics in fundamental physics, and accommodate domestic visitors from various institutions as well as those from foreign countries.
The activity of YITP covers a wide range of fields in contemporary theoretical physics: particle physics, field theory, nuclear physics, astrophysics, statistical physics, condensed matter physics and biophysics. YITP also encourage activities in creating a new interdisciplinary field of research at the forefront of modern theoretical physics.

Famous quotes containing the words activity of and/or activity:
“A constant smirk upon the face, and a whiffling activity of the body, are strong indications of futility.”
—Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (16941773)
“The teacher must derive not only the capacity, but the desire, to observe natural phenomena. In our system, she must become a passive, much more than an active, influence, and her passivity shall be composed of anxious scientific curiosity and of absolute respect for the phenomenon which she wishes to observe. The teacher must understand and feel her position of observer: the activity must lie in the phenomenon.”
—Maria Montessori (18701952)
