Young Hopeful Geyser is a geyser in the Lower Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park in the United States.
Young Hopeful Geyser is part of the Black Warrior Group which includes Artesia Geyser, Gray Bulger Geyser, and Steady Geyser. Young Hopeful is a collection of several vents which, depending on the seasonal water table, erupt either continuously or intermittently. The vent nearest Firehole Lake have gone dormant while the ones near the boardwalk trail have become more active. The two largest vents often reach about 2 feet (0.61 m) but sometimes surge to 6 feet (1.8 m).
Famous quotes containing the words young and/or hopeful:
“Im hurt, hurt and humiliated beyond endurance, seeing the wheat ripening, the fountains never ceasing to give water, the sheep bearing hundreds of lambs, the she-dogs, until it seems the whole country rises to show me its tender sleeping young while I feel two hammer-blows here instead of the mouth of my child.”
—Federico García Lorca (18981936)
“Scatter my ashes, strew them in the air:
Lord since thou knowst where all these atoms are,
Im hopeful thoult recover once my dust,
And confident thoult raise me with the just.”
—James Graham Marquess of Montrose (16121650)
