Activities
Jong Groen organizes actions and runs campaigns on a wide range of issues: a CO2-energy tax, open source software in schools, animal rights, green energy, public transport, education, employment, etc. Also, its working groups try to look at most of these issues from the vantage point of young people and try to formulate new ideas. Forum weekends and summercamps are the high points of the year: they are an opportunity for young greens in Flanders and Brussels to get to know each other, to discuss, to find inspiration for new actions and simply to have fun.

Famous quotes containing the word activities:
“The most remarkable aspect of the transition we are living through is not so much the passage from want to affluence as the passage from labor to leisure.... Leisure contains the future, it is the new horizon.... The prospect then is one of unremitting labor to bequeath to future generations a chance of founding a society of leisure that will overcome the demands and compulsions of productive labor so that time may be devoted to creative activities or simply to pleasure and happiness.”
—Henri Lefebvre (b. 1901)
“As life developed, I faced each problem as it came along. As my activities and work broadened and reached out, I never tried to shirk. I tried never to evade an issue. When I found I had something to doI just did it.”
—Eleanor Roosevelt (18841962)
“No culture on earth outside of mid-century suburban America has ever deployed one woman per child without simultaneously assigning her such major productive activities as weaving, farming, gathering, temple maintenance, and tent-building. The reason is that full-time, one-on-one child-raising is not good for women or children.”
—Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)
