History
Established in the 1920s as Edlington Rangers, the club was renamed Yorkshire Main Colliery F.C. in 1979. When the colliery was closed in 1986, they became Yorkshire Main F.C.
After spending the majority of their early years in the Doncaster Senior League and the Sheffield County Senior League, they joined the Northern Counties East Football League Division Two South in 1983. They spent eight seasons in this league, during which they played their only season in the FA Vase in their 1990–91 season, winning two qualifying rounds before being eliminated in the first round proper.
The club dropped out of the Northern Counties East League in 1991, rejoining the Sheffield County Senior League before moving back up the football pyramid in 1998 when they were accepted as members of the Central Midlands League. Since joining the league, they have spent most their time, except one season, in the league's lower division, known as the Premier Division, never finishing in the top half of the table until 2008 when they were promoted to the Supreme Division for the season 2008–09. They had to return to the Premier in 2009 due to not having floodlighting.
For the 2010–11 season, they became members of the Central Midlands Football League Premier Division. The committee were committed to install floodlighting and work began in 2008 when columns were purchased from Abacus Lighting who sponsor the Central Midlands League. An intense programme of obtaining grants was gone through in 2009–10 by committee members George Hanlon and secretary Dennis Tymon. These have been successful and work installing the cabling from the mains started in the Spring of 2010 and it is expected lights will be in working order for the season 2010–11.
The lighting project was completed in the close season 2010–11 and the Club now have working floodlighting.
