York University GO Station

York University GO Station is a GO Transit railway station on the Barrie line commuter railway; it is the first station stop northbound and the eighth station stop southbound (excluding terminals). The station serves York University in Toronto, but is located in an industrial area 1.6 km (1.0 mi) away from the university's campus. A shuttle bus service runs between the station and the university.

There is no station building; just a paved walkway, a paved platform to receive passengers and to board, a small bus shelter type enclosure to protect the ticket machine from the elements, a sign indicating the terminal (on both the road and at the station), railings and a posted schedule.

The construction of the platform and walkway was completed in 2002, funded by a provincial investment of $850,000. It was built by Gottardo Construction Ltd.

The York University GO Station officially opened on September 6, 2002, though it had been put into service earlier.

In 2015, it will be replaced by a new station attached to the Sheppard West TTC station, on the Spadina line extension currently under construction.
