Yevgeny Kutik - Debut Album, "Sound of Defiance"

Debut Album, "Sound of Defiance"

In July of 2011, Kutik self-produced his first professional recording through a Kickstarter fundraising campaign. Fans and supporters contributed over $8,000 toward the recording costs. The resulting recording was then signed by Marquis Classics in Toronto for international distribution, with an official release date of January 31, 2012. The album was inspired by Kutik’s cultural heritage and features works that were created during some of the darkest periods in the lives of Alfred Schnittke, Joseph Achron, Dmitri Shostakovich and Arvo Pärt.

Sound out your trumpetts, sound out amaine!

English and Scottish Ballads (The Poetry Bookshelf)

Logic, reason, disease, and the menace of death, these things meant nothing at all to us. We were committed to other values by which the poet has always lived in defiance of all that society demanded of him.
    Kay Boyle (1903–1993)
